Donald Ray Champeneaux

      Donald Ray Champeaux, born May 10, 1943 in Startup, WA to Hanford and Bertha Champeaux, passed away March 3, 2014 at Providence Hospital in Everett, WA.
      Don was a lifetime resident of Sultan and worked in the woods logging, at Loth Lumber and the Snohomish Mill. He also worked at several horse facilities in Monroe, WA.
      Don attended school through all grades in Sultan, WA graduating from Sultan High School in 1961.
     He was a wonderful friend to those who knew him and will be remembered for his willingness to lend a helping hand. No job or task was too big or small.
      He is survived by his children; son, Danny Champeaux; and daughter, Donaee Reeve (Jeff). He is also survived by his longtime, beloved companion Karen Hunstad.
     He also leaves his brother, Burl Champeaux (Betty); nephew, Bruce Champeaux (Lilah); and many friends and extended family.
     He was a wonderful parent to his children, as well as Karen's children and grandchildren.
      A celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Sultan Middle School Commons. A pot luck reception will follow the service. Please bring a favorite dish and memory of Don.
      Karen and his children would also like to extend their thanks to the Champeaux family and friends for their immense support, as well as the compassionate staff at Providence Hospital.
